The Journey... represents my mental growth, a product of the scars generously bestowed by the School of Hard Knocks. In this book, a departure from the norm unfolds - I've discovered my authentic voice and self over the past five years while navigating the challenges of PTSD and anxiety. In short, I am unapologetically myself, a Black Veteran in America bearing incurable scars while striving to uphold a lifestyle. These poems encapsulate real-time emotions with no predetermined path, akin to random, real-talk moments set against a backdrop of good music—a metaphorical road trip through life.
